We wanted to tell you a little bit about the people who work behind the scenes on this huge rolling show, there are so many great people working with us, we thought it was high time we introduced some of them to you. Every year we will feature some of our many great colleagues who work tirelessly to bring you the shows that you love.

Oliver Bode - National Tour
I've had the position of Rider Captain with the Big Day Out since 1994. My job is to ensure that all artists agreed hospitality requests are met while on tour - in other words I'm the guy who has to separate the brown M&Ms. Each year I look forward to touring Australia and playing my part in putting on this great event. If I had to pick a favorite year it would be 1995 - the bill was awesome and the mix of artists that year provided me with some interesting challenges and great entertainment. Events that stand out for me are:
2006 Sydney Boiler Room - the biggest boiler room ever;
1994 Adelaide - when the Ramones bought a fish head for their manager at the market;
1999 Gold Coast - witnessing the drama unfold after a bug flew on Courtney Love prior to her going on stage.
2006 Melbourne - seeing silent disco full of people having fun and dancing well into load out.
1995 - Finding nappies in a bands dressing room and trying to figure out - then finding out - why!
Perth Bassadine Oval - I loved the view of 40,000 people packed onto an oval in the middle of the suburbs of Perth during sweltering conditions.
Heavy G - every year, the funniest person I know.

Pat… aka Chicken - Perth
Job Description: Mmmmm - was event co-ordinator for many years, now coordinator of Entry, Market Stalls & Community Groups as well as the answerer to a million questions on show day ranging from " Where's the toilets , can I get backstage and meet ....?? to "How am I going to get home cos I've got no money/lost my mobile phone/ lost my bag/lost my mind as well as the 6 friends I came with and can you fix it!!
Years: Every single one of them! From 93!!!!
Favourite BDO Event: see above
Funny Tale: Who could forget BDO 1997 when a well known UK Band who promised every girl they met (and they met a lot of them in 24 hours believe me) free entry and the girls ALL turned up - problem was the band didn't tell anyone what they had done, or in this case what they had not done, as they had not left a ticket, or name for any of these "ladies" to claim their free entry. If I had a $1 for every time they asked me to go and get the band members in questions, I could have retired then and there

Favourite BDO event and any funny or strange tale related to the BDO or an experience you had whilst on the tour:
My Favourite BDO event would have to be the 99 BDO When I saw Marilyn Manson Play, Such a Fantastic show. As for strange experiences, well BDO is kinda out there event with very out there people, so every year is kinda a strange and very interesting time for me and for all .....!!!! YAY!!!

I'm the new girl on the block - this will be my first year working behind the scenes.
Favourite BDO Event:
1993 was my first BDO experience - I was only 21 at the time and VERY excited about going. Carter USM played that year and they were the sole reason I was going; I was a huge fan at the time. There we were just wandering around in our pack when we happened to see Fruitbat (oh my god!) wandering around the grounds so we ran up and got autographs and photos with him. He was VERY surprised that anyone recognised him - I think he might have ran backstage after that!
