At Sydney Big Day Out this year we are celebrating science!
Big Day Out is teaming up with FIRSTĀ® robotics and Macquarie University to help share the passion for innovation, technology and all things science, by bringing the Rebound Rumble Stadium to the Sydney show.
Inside the Rebound Rumble stadium high school students comprising of 5 teams from Tasmania, Victoria and NSW will be competing and an innovative basketball match. On the court weighing in at 50kg each, and standing in at 1.5 meters tall are four robots in two teams. High school students, who have built these robots, must control the robots, competing in a game of skill to manipulate and maneuver them around the court shooting and defending hoops
Rebound Rumble is part of FIRST‘s yearly competition that encourages students from all around the world to compete in a challenge that heightens an interest and participation in science and technology. The Australian programs are run by Macquarie University and Big Day Out is excited to bring this inspirational program to the Sydney show.
